Regional Network of MRI Centers Offers Quality Staff and Facilities, Convenient Access

Currently operating four magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) centers in the suburbs of Metropolitan Boston, New England Health Enterprises began with the first free-standing MRI center, in Wellesley, Massachusetts, in 1987. Today, centers are located in Brockton (MetroSouth), Framingham (MetroWest), Saugus (MetroNorth) and Wellesley Hills (West Suburban MRI and CT Center). All sites have state-of-the-art, high field Siemens 1.5 Tesla MRI units, and the Wellesley center also offers a multi-slice CT scanner. MetroWest recently began operation of a second high field MRI scanner using Siemens’ new technology allowing for highly detailed images of the entire body acquired in much shorter imaging times than previously possible.

Throughout its existence, NEHE has prided itself on continually updating its equipment to provide optimal state-of-the-art MRI technology to referring physicians and patients. Its professional medical staff includes highly trained radiologists who specialize in MRI. A full of range of services includes imaging of the central nervous system, musculoskeletal system (NEHE is the provider of MRI services for the Boston Bruins), cardiovascular system, abdomen, pelvis and breasts. Many of its staff are fellowship-trained at Boston’s distinguished hospitals, including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Deaconess-Beth Israel Medical Center, and Boston Medical Center.

Patients and physicians can expect the same quality of MRI services that they do from Boston’s finest hospitals, without long wait times for obtaining appointments. (Most patients can be scanned at an NEHE center within 24 hours, as opposed to many weeks of wait time often experienced at Boston’s hospitals). All centers have free onsite parking. Patients receive individualized and personal care and, in most instances, spend no more than 30 to 45 minutes from check-in to check-out.
