A Word from the Publishers
Our region is home to many of the world’s outstanding medical scientists and clinicians, as well to internationally respected medical schools, hospitals and health systems. They are responsible for outstanding advances in screening, diagnosis and treatment that have been deployed throughout the world.
This first issue of Medical Transformations Boston allows us to inform you about just some of the new services available through our area’s hospitals and physicians, ranging from networks of care and diagnostic technology to new treatments that help people cope with physical and emotional disease or take steps to slow down the aging process.
The common theme behind the articles in this issue is the notion that more and more people are committing themselves to deal with medical and health concerns that have troubled them or members of their family. To us, the word transformations suggests initiatives one can take that lead to a marked change for the better in physical health, emotional or personal well-being, or the health status of yourself, a family member or another loved one.
We expect that some readers will act themselves on what they read in these pages. Others may pass Medical Transformations on to someone they know can benefit from the information we present.
However you use Medical Transformations, we’d like to hear from you. Let us know how you have used our publication. What topics would you like to read about in future issues? Write to us at one of the addresses shown on page 3.
To your good health!
